Larry Junior Friend, 58, of Ironton, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at a local health care center.
The Lawrence County native was born June 26, 1951, the son of the late Homer B. and Edna Juanita Mosley Friend. He is survived by his wife, Carol Bruce Friend, whom he married June 30, 2003.
He was a 1970 graduate of Rock Hill High School, was a former employee at Tri-State Industries for 20 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Ironton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Freddie and Audrey Bruce.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Homer Friend of Ironton and Arthur Mosley of Pedro and two sisters, Elsie Smith of Ironton and Elizabeth “Libby” Howard of Pedro.
Funeral services will 3:30 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Waller and Pastor Roger Friend officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery.
