SOUTH BEND — Give the Iron Valley All-Stars a walk and they’ll take two runs.

Iron Valley, the Ohio Senior League Girls Softball representatives playing in the Midwest Regional Sunday, took advantage of some Indiana mistakes to snap a 1-1 tie and post a 3-1 win in the opening game of the tournament.

“The kids played with a lot of heart. They took advantage of a couple of walks and when (Indiana) made a couple of mistakes, they jumped on them. They’re a scrappy bunch,” said Ohio coach Ron Estep.
