PEDRO — Larry Keith Baker, 61, of Pedro, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born March 15, 1948, the son of the late Davey and Ruthey Boyd Baker. He is survived by his wife, Patty Hutchinson Baker, whom he married Oct. 25, 1975.
Mr. Baker attended Oak Hill School and the Old Country Tabernacle Church in Oak Hill. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a former technician for Meridian for 27 years retiring in 2002.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a very special grandson, Jayden Keith Lewis; four brothers, Rev. Chalmer Baker, Dee Baker, Jim Baker, and Ralph Baker; and two sisters, Thelma Aeh and Elsie Maynard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Billy Lewis of Pedro; a very special granddaughter, Hope Lewis of Pedro; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Rev. Clarence Baker of Rock Camp and Rev. William and Sally Baker of Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and C.B. Love of South Carolina; and sister-in-law, Wilma Baker of Oak Hill.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, with Rev. Bryan Carmon and Rev. Jesse Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Donations may be made to Phillips Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Billy Lewis, Sam Dyer, Bob Hutchinson, Ben Hutchinson, Roger Hutchinson, and Josh Howard.
