St. Mary’s Joint Center celebrates first anniversary with patient reunion

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The St. Mary’s Regional Joint Replacement Center held a celebration Aug. 6 for many of the patients who have received hip and knee replacements at the center over the past year.

St. Mary’s and Scott Orthopedic Center have been providing in orthopedic care longer than any other provider in the region.

But the new joint replacement center expanded patient education and care services and this marked the one year anniversary of the new program.

Patients have responded by more than doubling the number of people getting joint replacements at St. Mary’s. St. Mary’s and Scott Orthopedic have provided a team approach to patient service and education that is unmatched in the region.

Kyle R. Hegg, MD, Vivek Neginhal, MD, and Steve Lochow, MD are the three surgeons who perform joint replacement surgeries at the St. Mary’s Regional Joint Replacement Center. Lou Ann Waldron, RN, is the patient education coordinator. Patient satisfaction levels in the program are among the highest in the state.
