WILLIAM ROSE

BETHEL — William Edward Rose, 92, of Bethel, formerly of Orient, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at Hospice of Cincinnati.
He was born Jan. 15, 1917 at Greasy Ridge, Ohio; the son of the late Eldon and Ora Hamilton Rose.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Merle Saunders Rose, who died in 1973; and a sister, Ruth Jenkins.
He was a retired farmer from Orient, where he lived for many years. He was a member of the Lawrence Chapel Methodist Church on Greasy Ridge and was a 1935 graduate of Mason-Aid High School. He was also a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau.
He is survived by a daughter, Sarah Jeanne Rose of Bethel; a granddaughter and her husband, Lisa and George Chatfield of Grove City; four great grandchildren, Kathy, Brian, Jason and Emily; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Emerson (Woody) Roshon of Sunbury; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Ernestine Rose of Columbus; a nephew, Tom Rose of Columbus; a niece, Vicki McGuire of Antioch, Calif. and many dear cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Chapel Cemetery Greasy Ridge. Friends call after 1 p.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the charity of your choice in his name.
