Lawrence Lavender, 86, of Ironton, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
He was born Dec. 7, 1922. He was the husband of the late Pearl Lavender. He was the son of the late John and Clara Miller Lavender. He retired from Amcast and was a member of the UTC. He was a member of St. Lawrence Church of Ironton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and William Lavender and one sister, Mary Bayes.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church in Ironton with Father David Huffman and Father Charles Moran officiating. Burial will follow Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Ashland Community Hospice 2330 Pollard Rd. Ashland, KY 41101.
