Girlfriend jailed in stabbing incident

PERRY TOWNSHIP — A Perry Township man is listed in fair condition today after suffering a stab wound to the abdomen in a domestic dispute over the weekend.

Timothy McKenzie, 42, of 2040 County Road 6, was taken by helicopter to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. His girlfriend, Diana L. Murray, 50, also of 2040 County Road 6, was charged with felonious assault in connection with the incident and taken to the Lawrence County Jail. The incident happened at a residence on County Road 53 in Perry Township just after 6 p.m. Sunday.

A witness told Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies that Diana Murray had threatened McKenzie throughout the day and had walked around with a knife before the incident occurred.

Diana Murray reportedly told deputies she did indeed stab McKenzie and said the disagreement was over a pickup truck.
