ASHLAND, Ky. — The Kentucky Creative Arts Club, Inc. has announced the 50th anniversary “Art in the Park” on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Visitors can park at Crabbe Elementary and the 17th Street side of Central Park.

Registration is 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Entry is $15 for 10 pieces. Additional pieces $5 each. Students can enter for free.

Exhibitors must bring easels. Work must be framed and wired.

Categories in photography are film and digital-all subject, computer enhanced-all subject and the special category is “Scenes of Yesteryear.”

“Scenes of yesteryear” would be pictures taken now but shows how life used to be. Like feeding chickens, fishing, gardening, playing marbles, making a quilt etc.

Each category gets 1,2,3, and honorable mention ribbons.

All 1st place winners get $25.

One Best of Show from everything there gets $50 and a ribbon.

There will be purchase awards and door prizes.

If it rains the show will be held at KYOVA Mall, U.S. 60 East.

Open to all Tri-State area artists 18 years and older.

Special division for high school students. All entries must be the original works of the artist. Work must be suitable for family viewing (no nudes). Entries that have received awards in previous KCAC “Art in the Park” exhibits are prohibited.

Artwork must be an original idea, concept, or interpretation of the artist. No copies of others’ works.

All two-dimensional entries must be matted and/or framed (gallery wrapped canvases accepted) and ready to hang.

All exhibitors are to provide supports/easels for their work. Please leave art work displayed until all of the awards have been given.

Every effort will be made to protect works on exhibit. However, the Kentucky Creative Arts Club, Inc. and the City of Ashland will not be responsible for any damages or loss.

Anyone needing help or information while at this year’s Art in the Park, just look for someone wearing a red shirt.

The members of the Kentucky Creative Arts Club will be happy to help you in any way they can. The members hope to facilitate this process by making themselves easily recognizable in these shirts.
