Lawrence County AARP hosting health fair Sept. 23

The Lawrence County AARP Chapter will sponsor their annual Health Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sybene Senior Citizen Center.

Any Lawrence County resident age 50 and older may participate. They do not have to be an AARP member.

The following free health screening tests will be provided.

Healthy Number Blood Profile which requires 12 hour fasting plus PSA Blood Work for men which requires fasting, Facial Skin Cancer Screening, Muscle Testing and Acupressure, Lung Function, Pulse/Oxygen, Swallow Screening, Balance and Flexibility, Bone Density, Glaucoma, Blood Pressure, Body Mass Index, Upper Cervical Chiropractic plus a new screening for Peripheral Vascular Disease.

You may talk to professionals on Cancer, Smoking Cessation, Alzheimers, Urodaynamics, Breast Education, Asthma/Sleep Assessment, Rehabilitation, Lifeline, ADL equipment, Women’s Health, Nutrition and Stroke Awareness plus other services for senior citizens.

The cooperating service providers are Cabell Huntington Hospital, King’s Daughter Medical Center, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Dr. Mark R. Scott and Dr. Jason Runyon.

CAO Senior Services will provide a lunch for $4.

Tickets may be purchased at the front desk.

Door will not open until 9:30 a.m. Due to road construction you must turn at the light by Lowes, Sam’s or Sandusky Road toward the river.

Go to County Road 1, turn left, pass Hatcher’s Greenhouse and turn right onto Farm Road, Township Road 1076. Go to the gate of the fenced in area to the Senior Center.
