Morning Pointe Ridge names executive director

RUSSELL, Ky. – Independent Healthcare Properties, LLC, is announcing the appointment of Barry Brown, R.N., as executive director of Morning Pointe Ridge, located at 1000 Addington Drive in Russell, Ky.

Brown has more than 16 years of experience in healthcare and management. In his role as executive director, he will oversee all operations for the 58-unit senior care community, which includes The Lantern, a secure, state-of-the-art Alzheimer’s memory care center.

“Mr. Brown has a successful history in healthcare and a passion for senior care,” said Suzanne Foster, vice president of operations. “We are pleased that he accepted the position of executive director at Ridge.”

In previous positions, Mr. Brown has worked in pharmaceutical sales with Walgreens, served as director of nursing at Woodland Oaks Healthcare and worked as a staff nurse in occupational health at Johnson Controls, Inc. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Excelsior College and a master’s degree in information studies from Florida State University.

A native of Greenup County, Mr. Brown currently resides in Ashland, Ky. with his wife, Heather, and their children, Abby, 7, and Ben, 2.
