Scare easily?

If brothers are supposed to be tough and protect sisters from all manner of foe, Rosie Holloway of Jackson might have gotten shortchanged Friday night.

Her brother Bryan accompanied her to the Ironton Lions Club’s Haunted Tunnel Friday and if Rosie didn’t know it before she went through those darkened chambers, she learned quickly once inside that her brother can scream with the best of them.

“This is my first time,” Bryan Holloway said as he and Rosie waited outside the tunnel. Rosie had been before, a long time ago. She said she heard it’s even scarier now than it was then.

“You might end up peeing yourself,” she teased. Bryan had some concerns: Might there be rats inside that tunnel?

“I’m scared of rats and snakes,” Rosie revealed.

A worse cadre of critters awaited the Hollways inside the Haunted Tunnel. A dead bride, crazed cannibals chopping human flesh in a butcher shop, a chainsaw-wielding maniac and even Satan himself popped out of nowhere.

If he screamed his way through, Bryan Holloway was all laughs once outside.

“I’d do it again,” he said, getting into his car. “That was cool.”

The tunnel is open 7-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 31. The cost is $5. The proceeds support Lion’s Club causes throughout the year.
