SOUTH POINT — Irvin Lewis “Jack” South, 78, of South Point, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at Hospice House of Huntington in Huntington, W.Va.
Jack was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Burlington, a son of the late Irvin “Gip” and Bernice Wall South.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard South.
He was a member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ.
Jack is survived by his wife, Norris G. South; three sons, Bernard C. (Lori) of London, England, Ronald Lee (Becky) of Proctorville, and Jack E.(Donna) of Woodland, Calif.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brian) Riley, Tim (Vickie), Brian and Jennifer South; and three great grandchildren, Haylee, Hunter and Savannah.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Kline McCallister and the Rev. Eugene Haney officiating. Burial will follow in South Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.schneidergriffin.com.
