SOUTH POINT — Bertha Frances Eden Hood, 88, of South Point, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, in Heartland of Riverview.
Bertha was born Sept. 23, 1921, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late Clyde and Lettie Wilson Eden.
She was a homemaker and member of South Point Order of Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison “Fred” Hood; six sisters; and two brothers.
Bertha is survived by her daughter, Linda (Thomas, Sr.) Weekley of South Point; three grandsons, Thomas Weekley, Jr, Timothy Weekley, and Chris Weekley; three great granddaughters, Holly, Bethany, and Lauren; seven great grandsons, Dusty, Casey, Brandon, Kohl, Kyle, Kaleb, and Josh; and one great great grandson, Bobby.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Crook Cemetery. Friends may call 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences may be expressed at www.schneidergriffin.com.
