Used book sale rescheduled

IRONTON — The Used Book Sale originally scheduled at Briggs Lawrence County Public Library in Ironton this weekend has been rescheduled to Friday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Used books, magazines, video tapes and other items will be available. The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Artifact ID Day scheduled

NELSONVILLE — The Wayne National Forest, Ohio University’s Department of Geological Sciences, Hopewell Culture National Park, and Hocking College are again hosting the fifth annual “Artifact Identification Day” on Saturday, between 9 a.m. to noon.

The public is invited to bring artifacts and fossils to the Wayne National Forest Headquarters’ Welcome Center on U.S. Route 33, located 3 miles south of Nelsonville.

A team of professional archaeologists and paleontologists will help identify the items.

Clark Planetarium announces schedule

PORTSMOUTH — The Clark Planetarium public shows for fall semester will be taking place every Monday and Friday at 7 p.m. through Friday, Dec. 4 in the Advanced Technology Center on the Shawnee State University campus.

All public shows are free to the public and school groups are able to schedule free private shows to the planetarium.
