Wendy’s comes through to score for IHS band

On behalf of the Ironton Band Boosters organization, I want to take this opportunity to thank the management and staff of Wendy’s Restaurant for the kindness they showed our band kids on the night of the IHS Pep Rally on the plaza.

Wearing uniforms in the sweltering heat, the students were hot and several were overcome with heat.

At the request of Mr. Jeff Sanders, our band director, I went down to Wendy’s and spoke with one of the managers on duty, Ambria, and asked her if they could get us 80 cups of water for the students after the pep rally was over.

She, without question, said that they would do that.

I thanked her and reported back to Mr. Sanders. When the pep rally was over, 80 cups of ice water was waiting for our kids.

That cup of water was a wonderful treat after the heat and humidity of the previous hour and a half and the students were very grateful.

When I asked her how much we owed her, she waved it off indicating that there would be no charge. All the employees of Wendy’s were courteous and helpful.

Wendy’s was a great help that evening. They along with so many other Ironton businesses have supported the Million Dollar Marching Band for many years.

We as a band booster’s organization cannot express our appreciation enough.

Ultimately, your support allows our band students to have learning experiences that otherwise may not have been possible.

Thank you so much for all your support.

Ruth Crowe, Ironton Band Booster
