I’m not sure how this letter will be taken. If it offends anyone I’m sorry, but I take my stand here and now.

First, I am a Christian, I believe in God,and Jesus crucified and resurrected and I don’t have to be quiet about it. I have that right.

I am also an American and I am proud of it. I don’t have to be quiet about that either. I don’t have to sperate the two and I won’t.That’s my right also. I will recite the pledge of allegiance and I will say “one nation under God.”

My brothers, uncles, nephews, niece and friends served some fought and some died to give me that right. They also fought and died and sacrificed limbs to give you the same rights.

I don’t believe in abortions. I am against homosexuality. You have the right to believe what you want. I don’t shove my beliefs down anyone else’ throat and I expect the same from those who disagree with me.

I have that right.

That being said I do want to state my opinion about a couple of things.

I recently saw where a cross erected by a group of veterans in honor of their fallen comrades some 34 years ago is under attack by the ACLU. It is in a remote desert area and has had to covered up until a Supreme Court judge decides whether or not it can stay.

Come on, is this America or not?

And recently an employee of Home Depot was fired for wearing a badge with the American flag and the words “One nation under God” on his shirt, and a firefighter was suspended for having an American flag on his locker.

Again, I ask, is this America or not?

This Nov. 11 is Veterans Day. I ask that every person who supports veterans place a cross with an American flag beside it in their yard let us show our veterans,our heroes that we support and recognize their sacrifices to defend our freedom.

Christmas is a Christian holiday. It is about the birth of Jesus, so I don’t understand why anyone celebrates it if you don’t believe in Jesus. You can’t take Him out of it — it is about Him. I don’t care if there is a White House tree or not. But how can you say don’t put any religious ornaments on it.

A group of children was selected to make ornaments for the tree, but they cannot have any religious inclinations. Once again, I say is this or is this not America? Do we or do we not have rights?

Recently, in the paper was a story about a city in Ohio that was advised by their city attorney to cancel their Christmas parade because of lawsuits. Once again, is this or is this not the United States of America?

One nation under God. Take a stand.
