First of all, on behalf of Ohioans for Livestock Care, I would like to thank over 9,300 Lawrence County voters who approved Issue 2 in the recent election.

The nearly two to one approval rate in the county mirrored the nearly two to one statewide approval rate and we are very grateful.

Secondly, I would like to personally thank all those county individuals, organizations and businesses who supported Issue 2. Your willingness to pass out informational fliers, put up signs, wear buttons and speak out on this issue was greatly appreciated.

Thanks, too, to all the citizens who treated me so courteously when I campaigned for Issue 2, whether you agreed with me or not.

Publisher Mike Caldwell allowed me to take up an hour of his time even though he did not choose to endorse the issue in The Tribune. Bill Pratt did an excellent job of articulating our position in his ‘Opinion’ article.

While this was something about which I felt strongly, it was difficult for me to step out of my comfort zone to do campaigning.

Thank you, Lawrence Countians, for making it such a positive experience for me.
