David Horner, 61, of Ironton, died Tuesday, Nov.10, 2009, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Ironton native was born June 7, 1948, the son of the late Charles and Christine Fraley Horner.
He was a graduate of Green High School, a member of the American Legion and was of the Baptist faith. David was a Purple Heart recipient for service to his country during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; a brother, Homer Horner and four sisters, Cora Horn, Betty Horner, Christine Horner, and Bertha Brown.
He is survived by a daughter, Jeanette Horner of Ironton; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jerry and Edna Horner, Clarence and Julia Horner, Paul Horner, and Charles Horner, Jr., all of Ironton and a sister, Thelma Munion of Ironton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Gary Arthurs officiating. Burial will follow in Haverhill Cemetery.
