SOUTH POINT — Glenn Owen Webb, 91, of South Point died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. The North Kenova, Ohio native was born March 14, 1918, the son of the late John William and Theresa Elizabeth Pennington Webb.
Mr. Webb attended Chesapeake High School and was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran. He retired from Hecks Inc. after 10 years of service as a department head. He was also a car salesman with Howes-Griffith and Griffith and Moore Dodge and a former employee at the George H. Wright Clothing Co. He was a life member of the VFW in Guyandotte, W. Va., the D.A.V. #2 in Huntington, W. Va., and National Association of Civilian, and the Conservation Corps. He was of the Methodist faith and lived all his life in Lawrence County, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four sisters, Nellie Spence, Vera Webb, Hattie Trent, and Alice McComas; and seven brothers, Virgil Webb, Jesse Webb, Wayne Webb, Foster Webb, Martin Webb, Tom Webb and Allen Webb
He is survived by his sister Marie Malone of South Point.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, with Dr. Aaron Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.
