4-Mile concert to help needy

CHESAPEAKE — There will be a concert featuring the 4-Mile band at 7 p.m. Friday at the Chesapeake Middle School. This will be the release of the band’s first CD. Admission is $5 and all proceeds will go to help needy children in the school district.

More ‘Christmas With Dignity’ registration times scheduled

IRONTON — St. Paul Lutheran Church will have registration for its annual Christmas With Dignity 5-7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the church.

Again this year, the church will give away boxes of frozen food to approximately 650 needy area families. The actual giveaway will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 but registration is required to receive a food box.

St. Paul pastor, the Rev. David Ritchie, said the food boxes contain high protein frozen foods that can feed a family of four for 4-5 days.

The church is located at Sixth and Center streets in Ironton.

Seats available for Holiday Broadway Show at PAC

ASHLAND, Ky. — “Spirit of Christmas” show is Sunday, Dec. 13 at 4 p.m.

Dora, Backyardigans coming to PAC

ASHLAND, Ky. — Tickets are now on sale for Nickelodeon’s Storytime Live musical production for April 13 at 4 and 7 p.m. at Paramount Arts Center.

Leap into Fairytale Land with “Dora the Explorer,” journey through Purewood Forest with “The Backyardigans,” hop into Wonderland with “Wonder Pets!” and monkey around on The Monkey King Adventure with “Ni-Hao, Kai-lan.”

Santa’s Workshop for teens Dec. 8

ASHLAND, Ky. — Teens can make presents to give, and something to keep, at this month’s Teen Tuesdays program at Boyd County Public Library.

The library will provide the supplies and instructions for teens to make a couple of homemade presents. There will be a variety of gifts to choose from – for men, women and children. Teens can also make something for themselves.

The program starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Main Branch, 1740 Central Ave. Refreshments will be served. All local teens, ages 13-17, are invited.

Teen Tuesdays is a monthly program held on the second Tuesday. Each month features a different topic and/or activity, many of them selected by members of the Teen Library Council. The council, which also selects teen materials for the library’s collection, meets on the same day, at 4:30 p.m.
