GILDA DURHAM

NAPOLEON — Gilda J. Durham, 63, of Napoleon, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born Nov. 2, 1946, in Ironton, to Daniel and Florence Besco Henderson. Her father survives in Yuma, Ariz., and her mother survives in Ironton.

Gilda worked for the Campbell’s Soup Co. in Napoleon for 22 years, retiring in April of 2007. She was a strong fighter in battling cancer since 2002. She was an avid bowler at the River City Bowl-A-Way, an avid reader and enjoyed NASCAR racing.

She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Durham of Napoleon; two grandchildren, Harley Dunakin III and Ethan Dunakin; three sisters, O’Dessia Kline, Patricia Monning and Linda Howard; and six brothers, Danny Hutchinson, Tony Hutchinson, Steve Hutchinson, Rob Hutchinson, Tom Henderson and Bill Henderson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alan Hutchinson and Ronnie Hutchinson.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Synder-Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon. Private internment will be made in Cole Cemetery, Flatrock Township.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flatrock Township or the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
