IRONTON — Tri-State Industries, a program of the Lawrence County Board of Developmental Disabilities, showed their appreciation to the businesses of the community who have supported the program’s employees and staff this year.

Tri-State Industries hosted an appreciation luncheon to thank those companies on Dec. 4 at Austyn’s in downtown Ironton.

“It was great to see all of these dedicated people all in the same room together,” said Jason Kinder, community employment specialist at TSI. “They are all working for the same goals and otherwise would never meet.”

Individuals from different industries got the opportunity to meet one another and share experiences about working with employees from TSI. In attendance were representatives from L/S Services, Cintas, the Lawrence County Health Department, Rehabilitation Services Commission, and members of the TSI Board.

Kinder also handed out surveys for those in attendance to fill out, in order for personnel at TSI to receive feedback to measure their own performances.

“The survey was about the work that we do to help the business,” said Kinder. “We are really looking to know what we are doing right but more importantly what we are doing wrong. There is always room for improvement and any feedback we can get will help.”

Tri-State Industries, Inc., is a private, non-profit corporation in conjunction with the Lawrence County Board of DD, which serves more than 500 children and adults with developmental disabilities from throughout the county.
