St. Mary’s presents ‘An Evening with Beto Perez’

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — St. Mary’s Medical Center will present “An Evening with Beto Perez” on Monday, Jan. 11 from 7-9 p.m. at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington.

Perez, founder of the ZUMBA fitness program, will host a master Zumba class in the main arena, and St. Mary’s will offer free health screenings prior to the event from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Tests for cholesterol, blood sugar levels and other screenings will be available those attending the event.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or any Ticketmaster location. Proceeds from the event go to the Healthy Heart U program for kids at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

The program was created to help combat childhood obesity through the management of risk factors for heart disease, diabetes and other health problems.

The Zumba program combines Latin music with easy-to-follow dance moves.

Routines feature interval training sessions with fast and slow rhythms, and resistance training designed to tone and sculpt the body.
