FRANKLIN FURNACE — The Green Lady Bobcats proved something to themselves.

When leading scorer Adrianne Blankenship fouled out with seven minutes to play, the Lady Bobcats pulled together and held off the Portsmouth Notre Dame Lady Titans 51-44 Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“It went well until the fourth quarter, but our girls were able to pull it out. We don’t want to do it without (Blankenship), but we proved to ourselves we can,” said Green coach Bucky Bridges.

Blankenship led Green with 11 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Lauren Jones had 18 points and 12 rebounds while Carlee Pollard and Brianna Johnson grabbed 7 rebounds each.

Jen Arnzen led Notre Dame with 18 points. She was 13 of 15 at the line including 6 of 6 in the fourth quarter.

Jones opened the game with 7 points in the first quarter as Green took a 12-6 lead.

Six different players scored in the second quarter as the lead went to 31-15.

Blankenship had 6 of Green’s 10 points in the third quarter and it was 41-23.

After Blankenship fouled out, Jones scored 6 points as Green held on to win.
