WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Edna Carey Deeds Langdon, 89, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, in Winter Haven, due to kidney failure.
She was born Oct. 5, 1920, in Coal Grove, Ohio, and spent most of her life there. She moved to Auburndale, Fla., in 1980 where three of her sons lived.
She attended Rio Grande College and received a B.S. degree and masters degree in administration from Marshall University. She was a teacher and a principal in the Coal Grove schools for 32 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; a sister; her first husband, William Deeds, and her second, husband, Harry Landgon.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Mistal of Clearwater, Fla. Edna had four sons, John Deeds (Sondra) of Beckley, W.Va., Frank Deeds (Jane) of Auburndale, Fla., Charles Deeds (Jane) of Auburndale, Timothy Deeds (Georgene) of Auburndale. There are eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at The First Church of the Nazarene in Winter Haven. Arrangements for a memorial service in Coal Grove will be made at the convenience of the family.
