“His love for the Lord helped touch all those he was able to reach with his friendship, love, and ministry.”

Pastor Thomas Eugene McFann, 47, of Mount Gilead, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, Dec. 14, 2009, at the Ohio State University Medical Center due to complications from a recent surgery.
He was born Sept. 27, 1962, in Oak Hill, the son of Larry and Nancy (Aldridge) McFann of Fostoria.
Tom attended Elmwood High School in Bloomdale, later receiving his GED. He was a 1996 graduate of World Harvest Bible College in Columbus with an associate’s degree in Pastoral Theology.
On June 18, 1994, he married his loving wife Kim Marie Coutcher. They were blessed with 15 wonderful years together as husband and wife.
It was at God’s House of Praise at the Wayne Grange in Fredericktown, where Pastor McFann could be found preaching the Good News, doing his most important work: that of the Lord!
Thomas also discovered that local television was an excellent medium for spreading the Gospel. He found that opportunity as a volunteer at TV 39 in Marion where they aired his weekly show, Walking in Faith and Living in Victory. His ministry also extended to senior citizens and the local nursing homes.
A talented musician, Tom enjoyed singing and playing the guitar.
He also owned and operated Pup Tub Dog Grooming in Delaware from 1996 to 2007.
Tom’s idea of heaven would probably include a fishing pole and a large body of water. Aside from his love of the Lord, there was nothing he was more passionate about. He lived for those special fishing trips to Lake Erie or casting his line into their pond at home.
He will be missed by his wife, Kim; his parents, Larry and Nancy McFann of Fostoria; brother, David (Cindy) McFann of Wayne; and his sister, Janis (Mark) Nelson of Wayne. He was a beloved uncle to Ryan, Kamila, Christopher, Adam, Echo, Tyler, Jeffrey, and Jordan; and great uncle to Coral and Annabelle.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Shirley (McFann) Scaggs and his maternal grandparents Clarence and Selma Aldridge.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday Jan. 9, 2010 at 3 p.m. at TV 39, 1282 North Main St., Marion, with Pastor Donny Acker and Pastor Steve Jobe officiating. Friends may call 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the television station.
Inurnment near his beloved grandmother will take in Vernon Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the family, c/o Snyder Funeral Home, 76 South Main Street, Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338.
