Juanita “Needy” Norris, 89, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Williamsport, Md., native was born Feb. 3, 1920, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Shipley Sharer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Norris.
Mrs. Norris attended the Washington County Schools in Williamsport, Md. She worked for the Lawrence County Children’s Services, retiring in 1982. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Norris; six brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Norris of Ironton; her grandchildren, Jessica Jones and her husband, Ray; Brittany Samons and her husband, Kyle; and Michael Norris, all of Ironton and her great-grandchildren, Lexie Jones and Mika Jones both of Ironton. She is also survived by a special friend, Gene Arrowood of Ironton.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
