ARNETTE MADDEN

Mr. Arnette Madden, 82, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
He was born July 20, 1927, in Prong Ky., the son of the late Ezekiel and Agnes (Marks) Madden.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Philippines after World War II. In 1981 he retired after 36 years of combined service to the N&W Railroad and the Kessler Brass Foundry.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Yates Madden; one son, Jerry R. Madden; one sister, Lulia Harbolt and four brothers, Thurman Madden, Pearl Madden, Franklin Madden and Charles Madden.
He is survived by three sons, Arnette (Mary) Madden, Kenneth D. Madden, and Kevin B. Madden all of Ironton; one daughter, Lisa L. (Brian) Knipp of Kitts Hill; three sisters, Lola Corbin of Ironton, Julie Salyers of South Point, and Carolyn Horner of Kitts Hill; two brothers, Walter Madden of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Noah Madden of Lanagan, Mo.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Sarah, Joseph and the Birchfield family.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with Brother Mac Shope officiating. Interment will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
