Local family opens new restaurant

FLATWOODS, Ky. – The Lunchbox and Custom Catering is now open at 1503 Argillite Rd. in Flatwoods, Ky.

The menu features homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, burger and dogs, dinner specials, baked goods as well as daily specials and packages for special events. It also offers a catering menu and will work with patrons to develop the perfect menu for any occasion. Delivery will be available as well.

Opening the restaurant is the Bond Family. Hank Bond, a 1969 graduate of Russell High School, will assist in the business management of the restaurant.

Beth Bond, a 1995 graduate of Russell High School and certified chef from Sullivan University’s Culinary Arts School (class of 1997) will serve as Head Chef. She also has a degree in hospitality from Sullivan.

Marilyn Bond will serve as the business manager for the restaurant. She has won awards for her cooking and will assist in food preparation and menu expansion. M. Bond is a 1969 graduate of Pendleton County High School.

“We are so excited to be back in the area and opening a restaurant that we truly believe will have something for everyone,” says Beth Bond. “Our menu is unique and everything will be homemade. Something that is rare in restaurants today. No processed food. It is all us.”

Hours of operation at the restaurant will be Monday through Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m, Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. It will be closed on Sundays.
