GREENVILLE, N.C. — Marshall placed four players in double figures as the Thundering Herd beat the East Carolina Pirates 83-65 Saturday.

Damier Pitts led Marshall (13-2) with 17 points. Chris Lutz had 13 points while Hassan Whiteside and Tyler Wilkerson had 10 points each.

Whiteside — who leads Div. I with blocked shots — had five blocks.

With the victory, the Thundering Herd is 2-0 in Conference USA play for the first time since joining the league in 2005 and are 2-0 in conference play since the 2003-04 season when MU went 2-0 in the Mid-American Conference.
