HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Dawson-Bryant students involved in a small chain reaction crash on Interstate 64 are unharmed. The students from the middle school were traveling this morning on the Interstate to Charleston, W.Va., for a field trip to the Clay Center.
“None of the kids are hurt,” Eric Holmes, of the school district, said.
Two cars ahead of the bus crashed. A third car in trying to avoid the crash, swerved and hit one of the school buses, rupturing a tire. Both buses were able to pull to the side of the road. The accident happened near the Huntington Mall exits. Crews from the school were being sent to the Interstate to fix the tire and assess the damage. The students, all seventh graders, were to return to the school.
