COAL GROVE — The annual Coal Grove Hornets’ Nest freshman basketball tournament will be held Jan. 18, 20 and 27 at the high school and junior high school gyms.

In the junior high gym on Monday, Jan. 18, Fairland plays Ashland, Ky., at 11 a.m. followed by Prestonsburg, Ky., and Raceland, Ky., at 12:30 p.m.

In the high school gym, Lawrence County, Ky., goes against Russell, Ky., at 11 a.m. while Symmes Valley faces host Coal Grove at 12:30 p.m.

The semifinal games will be held Wednesday, Jan. 20, in the high school gym. The Fairland-Ashland winner plays the Prestonsburg-Raceland winner at 7 p.m. while the Lawrence County-Russell winner goes against the Symmes Valley-Coal Grove winner at 8:30.

On Wednesday, Jan. 27, in the high school gym the semifinal losers play at 7 p.m. in the consolation game. The championship game will be held at 8:30.
