Lawrence SWCD supervisors sworn-in

LINNVILLE — Two supervisors elected to the Lawrence Soil and Water Conservation District Board were sworn-in Jan. 15 by Lawrence County Municipal Court Judge Donald Capper.
Ed Pratt was re-elected to serve a three-year term and Phillip Ellis was newly elected to serve a three-year term on the SWCD Board of Supervisors from 2009-2012.
Supervisors for the Lawrence Soil and Water Conservation District are volunteers.
They are elected at a special election held each fall.
A total of five board members provide guidance to the district by setting priorities and developing the local program.
The Lawrence SWCD provides assistance to the public on such programs as floodplain management, storm water management, drainage issues, logging complaints, 911 addressing, rental equipment, CAUV maps, tree seedling sales, education programs, development permits, building permits and more.
