ASHLAND, Ky. — Daniel Carey III, 28, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 10, 1981, in Ironton, Ohio. He was a 2000 graduate of Russell High School.
Daniel is survived by his mother, Vicki Wurts of Franklin Furnace, Ohio; his father, Daniel Carey II of Russell; a brother, David Wurts of Russell; two stepsisters, Christina Baldridge of Russell and Amanda Wurts of Wheelersburg; maternal grandmother, Mary Blankenship of Ironton; maternal grandfather and his wife, Jim and Marcella Hughes of Coal Grove; paternal grandparents, Dan and Sue Carey of Coal Grove; his children, Noah Carey and Layla Carey, both of Ashland; his loving companion, Jessie Zacur of Ashland; an aunt, Crystal Heckel of New London; two uncles, Randy Fields of Ashland and Jimmy Hughes of Ironton.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, Ohio. Family will receive friends noon-2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
