Fire leaves owner homeless

IRONTON — A fire that started in the basement of a house on the north end of Ironton has left its owner homeless.
Ironton City Fire Department was called to 1014 North Fifth St. around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Michelle Boothe, owner of the one-story frame house, was not at home at the time.
Firefighters were at the scene for about two hours.
Right now, the cause of the fire has not been determined, according to Fire Chief Tom Runyon.
The house sustained severe structural damage.
