BIDWELL — It all fell into Evan Ferguson’s hands.
Ferguson got the ball with five seconds left, drove the length of the floor and hit a 5-foot jumper in the lane with 1.2 second left to play and lifted the Coal Grove Hornets to a 41-40 win over the River Valley Raiders Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Dominique Peck came up with a steal and then hit a 15-footer with 7.6 seconds left to put River Valley up 40-39.
Ferguson then took the inbounds pass and made his go-ahead shot. River Valley got off an unsuccessful half court heave before the final buzzer.
River Valley (3-11, 2-6) led 13-12 at the end of the first quarter and each team scored 9 points in the second quarter to make it 22-21 at the half.
