KITTS HILL — Elizabeth Novella Pancake, 27, of Kitts Hill, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 2, 2010, from King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Lawrence County native was born March 15, 1982, the daughter of Jamie K. and Lena A. Dalton Pancake of Kitts Hill.
Beth was a 2001 graduate of Symmes Valley High School and received a full tuition scholarship to attend Rio Grande University for her excellence in trombone playing.
She was able to go to Europe as a member of the American Musical Ambassadors Honors Band and attended Sugar Creek Landmark Bible College. She was a former employee of McDonalds in Walmart at South Point and also helped in the family business, Pancake’s Appliance Repair.
She was very active with mission and volunteer work with various churches and rang the bell for the Salvation Army around Christmas. She was a member of the Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Huntington, W. Va., and was a member of the YMCA and had many friends there.
She enjoyed photography, bird watching, and facebook but her goal in life was to lead as many people as possible to her Lord and her desire was for everyone to know Christ.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: C.G. and Thelma Hensley Dalton; her paternal grandparents, Francis and Phyllis Howard Pancake; two uncles Lonnie Dalton and Mark Pancake.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister and best friend, Emily Pancake of Kitts Hill; her three dear friends, Brittany Stewart, Heather Ford, and Kristy Baur and many other close friends; herpaternal grandmother, Virginia Pancake of Chesapeake; aunts and uncles, Leo Dalton, Leon Dalton, Leroy Dalton, Leona Knipp, Linda Rigney, Lacy Dalton, Laura Wilson, Lois Wellman, Lela Petria, Lila Martin, Matthew Pancake, Donald Gene Pancake, and Erica Scherer, their spouses, and many cousins, friends, and great aunts and uncles
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastors David Robbins and Mike Long officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Travis Dudding, Donald Gene Pancake, Roger Pierce, Mike Long, Thomas Scott, Bill Stapleton, Shane Stewart, and Nathaniel Dickess and honorary pallbearers will be Robert Oliver and George Stewart.
