Mrs. Maxine Boykin, 77, of Ironton, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
She was born Oct. 28, 1932 in Ironton, the daughter of the late William Loving Anderson and Dorothy Crockrell Anderson.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Boykin; her grandmother, Amanda Crockrell Edwards; one brother, Kenneth Anderson, one sister, Patricia Young and one aunt, Marian Loving.
Maxine was a devout Christian and she was a servant to humanity as she worked as a registered nurse for the Lawrence County General Hospital for 39 years.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Boykin and his wife Adrienne of Chicago, Ill., and Rodney Boykin and his wife Phyllis of South Point; one daughter, Jami Sue Boykin of Ironton; five grandchildren, Corey Boykin, Justin Boykin, Mandi Boykin, Darrius Boykin and Kia Whitney; four great-grandchildren, Corey Boykin, Justin Boykin, Zion Boykin, and Sheena Boykin; one brother, Vansel “Butch” Stephens; one sister, Dorothy Rhodes and one aunt, Angie Brown. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home, Ironton, Ohio with the Rev. Douglas Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10a.m.-noon Saturday at the funeral home.
