PEDRO — Virgil Lee Jordan, 65, of Pedro, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.
The Jackson native was born Jan. 24, 1944, the son of the late George and Rena Rose Jordan.
He attended Waterloo School and was a former employee for Marion Power Shovel. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George and Beth Jordan of Pedro; a
daughter, Sarah Jordan of Pedro; a stepson, Jimmy Carter of Willow Wood; a brother, John Jordan of Pedro; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Faye and Phillip Cordle, Marie and Elroy Howard and Cora Bloomfield all of Pedro, Mildred Friend of Ironton and his twin sister, Birdie Jane Friend of Ironton and two grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Friend officiating. Burial will follow in Gallia Baptist (Souders) Cemetery. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
