PEDRO — The weather was a lot like the outcome. Not so good.
In dreary and rainy conditions, the Wellston Lady Golden Rockets got past the Rock Hill Redwomen 6-2 Monday in the season-opener for both teams.
Breanna Hall had a run-scoring triple in a two-run first inning as Wellston took an early lead.
Rock Hill got a run in the bottom of the inning to make it 2-1.
Hall singled home what proved to be the deciding run in the third inning and it was 3-1.
Brittni Hall went the distance to get the win for Wellston. She struck out seven, walked one and hit a batter. Only one run was earned.
Morgan Schug turned in a complete game for Rock Hill. She gave up eight hits, walked two and notched four strikeouts.
