PEDRO — Morgan Schug’s teammates were quite a hit. Fortunately, she wasn’t.

Schug was hard to hit as she fired a one-hitter and the Rock Hill Redwomen pounded out 14 hits en route to a 6-1 win over Huntington Ross.

Schug struck out seven and did not walk a batter in going the distance.

Rock Hill backed her pitching with a strong offense led by Countney Duncan and BreeAnna Depriest who each went 3-4. Haylia Gannon and Schug were 2-3 and Nicole Stamper 2-4.

The Redwomen got a run in the first on triple by Duncan and Depriest’s base hit.

Ross tied the game in the top of the second, but Rock Hill got the run back in bottom of the inning when Stamper reached on an error and scored on Duncan’s single.

Rock Hill got some insurance with four runs in the fourth inning.

Dani Crabtree doubled and Gannon tripled for the first run. Gannon came home on an error and it was 4-1.

Depriest and Schug singled for a run and an error scored the final run.
