It was a mirror-image game, with one exception.

The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers and Rock Hill Redwomen both got solid pitching, collected seven hits, stroked a pair of doubles and a home run.

But the mirror cracked when it came to runs as Ironton posted a 6-3 win over the Redwomen Wednesday.

Nikki Elswick went 2-for-3 to pace the Ironton offense as she homered for the second straight game.

Elswick’s home run over the fence in right-center scored courtesy runner Emily Davis as Ironton scored three times in the first inning.

Brea Tackett and Rebekkah Potter each doubled for Ironton (2-0). Taylor Lilly, Alex Taylor and Emily Lilly also had hits.

Rock Hill’s Dani Crabtree was 2-3 with a double and a solo home run over the left field fence in the fourth inning.

BreeAnna Depriest, Chelsea Harper, Morgan Schug, Megan Russell and Nicole Stamper also had hits for the Redwomen (1-2).

Potter and Karlie Collins combined for 12 strikeouts and just one walk. Potter — who fanned seven and walked one in five innings — got the win and Collins the save.

Schug had a strong performance with nine strikeouts and a walk as she turned in a complete game.
