Redmen offense attacks Oaks

OAK HILL — Barry Litteral may have found an attack command for his team.

For the second straight game, the Rock Hill Redmen collected double-digit hits including 15 hits in a 13-4 rout of the Oak Hill Oaks Saturday.

“The last two games we’ve hit pretty well. I’m happy with the way we have attacked the ball,” said Litteral.

Chris Donahue and Devin Darby slammed home runs to led the Rock Hill attack offense. Cody Massie was 3-5 with a double and a triple, Darby was 3-3 plus a double, Josh Malone went 2-5 with a triple and Jonathan Schob was 3-4.

The Redmen (2-1) settled the issue in the first inning with an 11-run outburst.

Malone singled, Shane Russell reached on a fielder’s choice an Massie had a two-run triple to start the uprising.

Schob singled in a run and Darby followed with a two-run homer. Matt Jenkins reached on an error, Donahue walked and Alex Bare had a run-scoring double. Malone tripled for two runs and Russell singled home a run.

Jeremy Blagg, Massie, Schob and Darby all singled with the final two hits driving in runs to cap the rally.

Donahue cranked a solo home run in the second inning to make it 12-0.

The Oaks scored two runs in the third inning and a run in the fourth to get within 12-3.

Rock Hill added a run in the fifth without a hit. Schob was hit by a pitch, Darby walked and a throwing error scored Schob.
