Donald “Don” R. Bays Sr., 67, of Ironton, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, W. Va. He was born on July 25, 1942, in Ironton, the son of the late William and Violet Edwards Bays. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Rosemary Johnson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Doris Jean Hull Bays, whom he married on Aug. 5, 1962; three sons and two daughter-in-laws, Don (Patricia) Bays of Ironton, Rick Bays of Columbus and Tim (April) Bays of Ironton; four grandchildren; three sisters, Sheila (Donald) Howard, Karen (Bob) Jones and Sharon (Keith) Bruce; two brothers, John (Karen) Bays, Bill (Deloris) Schuster and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with Pastor Kenny Klaiber and Joe Vanmeter officiating. Internment will follow in Haverhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.
