CHILLICOTHE — When you do the three phases of the game well, things should go well.

They did.

The Rock Hill Redwomen played well in all three facets of the game as they beat the Huntington Ross Lady Huntsmen 14-3 in five innings Thursday.

“We hit well and defensively we just played great and the pitching was good, too,” said Rock Hill coach Mary Harper whose team did not make an error.

Playing really well was Courtney Duncan who went 3-5 including the her first two career home runs. Morgan Schug and Dani Crabtree were 2-3 and Nicole Stamper was 2-4 as the Redwomen had 13 hits.

Duncan homered to start the game. Chelsea Harper then singled, moved up on Schug’s sacrifice bunt and scored on Crabtree’s hit to make it 2-0.

Stamper and Haylia Gannon singled in the second inning and Duncan unloaded a three-run homer as Rock Hill went up 5-0.

Crabtree walked and Morgan Damron doubled in the third inning for a 6-0 lead.

After Ross scored three runs in the bottom of the third, Rock Hill answered with four runs in each the fourth and fifth innings.

Duncan doubled and scored when BreeAnna Depriest reached on an error to begin the fourth. Harper walked and Schug hit a two-run double. Crabtree singled to score courtesy runner Brooke Knipp.
