The Ironton Fighting Tigers tennis team snapped a five-match losing streak with a 3-2 win over the New Boston Tigers Tuesday.

In singles play, Andrew Hicks beat Steven Russell 6-1, 6-0 and Aaron Pettiford downed Trey Branham 6-3, 6-2.

Ironton’s Brennan Banks lost a tough match to Miranda Litz, 6-1, 4-6, 2-6.

Schylar Fields and Jordan Sheridan lost to Alex Williams and Austin Raines 0-6, 3-6, but Kylie Thomas and Devin Karnes provided Ironton with the win as they beat Daniel Waters and Travis Grant 7-5, 6-2 in the other doubles match.

Ironton’s Nathan Hale lost in an exhibition match.
