Ironton tennis splits matches

It was the Scioto split.
The Ironton Fighting Tigers’ tennis team split a pair of matches with Scioto County teams last week, falling to Minford but and bouncing Wheelersburg.
Minford swept all five matches from Ironton on Wednesday.
In singles play, Ironton’s Andrew Hicks lost 2-6, 1-6, to Noah Thiel, Arron Pettiford fell 1-6, 3-6 to Logan Conkey, and Brennan Banks was beaten by Sam Williams 2-6, 4-6.
Ironton’s doubles team of Ryan Sias and Devin Karnes lost to Craig Miller and Taylor Huff 3-6, 0-6, and Schylar Fields and Jordan Sheridan fell to Bo Vallandingham and Kyle Snuder 4-6, 0-6.
In an exhibition match, Kylie Thomas and Nathan Hale fell to Levi Mumms and Ashley Oesch 6-8.
Ironton swept singles play on Thursday against the Pirates.
Hicks downed Aaron Parker 6-3, 7-5 in number one singles play, Pettiford topped Walker Roe 6-2, 6-1, and Bank won in straight sets over Katie Provaznik 6-1, 6-0.
Karnes and Sias dropped their doubles match to Seth Lawrence and Kollin Hiles 2-6, 4-6, but Fields and Sheridan stopped Jamie Crowder and Kack Kirkkendall 7-6 (8-6), 6-3.
In an exhibition match, Thomas and Hale beat Ethan Hiles and Josh Martin 8-2.
