Ironton cleanup days next week

Ironton residents who want to participate in the Lawrence County Cleanup Day Saturday are asked to meet at 8:45 a.m. at the corner of Second and Center Streets.

So far several organizations including the Boy Scouts, some church groups and the Key Club have indicated that they will participate, Mayor Rich Blankenship said.

Any organization or individuals who want to participate are welcome, he said.

Next week will mark Ironton’s cleanup days. Residents can pitch unwanted items with their garbage and city workers will pick them up at their regular pickup times.

Items with Freon, such as refrigerators will not be accepted. Tires will also not be accepted.
