Verna Mae McFann, 70, of Ironton, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Pedro native was born Feb. 27, 1940, the daughter of the late Dewey Edward and Helen Sharp Depriest. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald McFann, whom she married Oct. 26, 1959.
Mrs. McFann attended Bartels School, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne McFann; five brothers, the Rev. Eddie Depriest, Walter Depriest, Clarence Depriest, Don Depriest, and Raymond Depriest; three sisters, Melody Depriest, Marjorie Depriest, and Manella Herrell and a son-in-law, Danny Smith.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammie Smith of Coal Grove and Melissa and Scott Gallion of Franklin Furnace; five sisters, Gertrude Carmon of Coal Grove, Rosella Besco, Teresa Kidd, Vera Markel, and Judy Alford all of Pedro and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Green officiating. Burial will follow in Puckett Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
