Nolie Earl Hayes, 91, of Ironton, died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Vanleer, Tenn., native was born April 18, 1919, the son of the late Grigsby Hayes and Minnie Mae Clark Hayes.
Mr. Hayes retired after 35 years with General Motors Corp. in Michigan and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Blanche Daniels Hayes and five brothers, Jesse, Buddy, Z.B., James, and J.P. Hayes.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Darlene and Mark Rutledge of Ironton; two stepdaughters, Lodeama Fern and Donald Gene Watson of Lakeland, Fla., and Ica Mae Eldred of Pontiac, Mich.; a stepson, Clell D. (Skeeter) Jenkins, also of Lakeland; a sister, Elizabeth Williams-Swain, of Lincoln Park, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
